Calculated Motive To Save $ Diverts Scandal
Knowing how much you spend is half the battle in how to get your expenses under control. Most of us understand how to sit down and go through our bank statements and receipts so that we can save a penny here and a dime there (it does all add up, you know). We also know that turning off lights and adjusting the A/C will save us money as well, but have you ever wondered exactly how much? Short of having my other half stand outside at the meter watching to see if the little spinning thing (which I don’t think is the technical name) changes its rotation speed as I turn stuff on and off, I had NO clue where to start. And even if the little spinning thing did go slower, how much did I save?
I did a little research and had a Ta-Da moment when I found a wonderful, free and simple to use resource (http://michaelbluejay.com/electricity/howmuch.html)which allows people to pick specific appliances, how often they run and even the local cost of electricity to get a better grip on what we really do spend on our electricity. And when you know how much you spend, you are better equipped to make choices that allow you to save. Not only that, but as a bonus, our team effort as a couple to save money no longer involves screaming “faster” and “slower” from the back yard, so not only has the spinning thing slowed WAY down, but so has the neighborhood gossip!
Make sure to explore michaelbluejay.com (http://michaelbluejay.com/electricity/howmuch.html) a bit. He has a lot more than just how to calculate your electric costs and you be shocked how much you can save!
