Clipping Wasteful Spending

I can't say this enough: USE COUPONS EVERY TIME IT HELPS YOU SAVE MONEY but NOT just because you have them or they are about to expire. Although the more time you spend in the grocery store, the better chance there is you will spend extra money, it's worth it to take the time to do the math. Figure out the price of the item with the coupon deduction and then check the price of comparable products. Then simply take the better deal. This sounds simplistic, but it's a step many people skip and in the long run, a costly one. Also, don't use a coupon for an item you would not normally purchase if you didn't have the discount, odds are you will be throwing away your money.

A few bonus tips:

Always read through your local sales paper and match up your coupons with the weeks sales AND double and triple coupon days (Remember most sales in the grocery industry are Wednesdays thru Tuesday);

If you are going to buy 2 or 3 of the same item, print and bring the same coordinating number of identical coupons with you. Many places will let you use one coupon per item unless otherwise specified; and

Of course if a product is on sale for which you don't have a coupon just come here and odds are you'll find a coupon for it.

One last note, if you have coupons you know you will not use and they are not expired, lay them on the shelf next to the product for someone else to use. It will inspire them to do the same and good karma is always a bargain.
