Great Costumes Are Not Just Witchful Thinking!
Halloween has crept up on us once again and the kids and adults alike are scrambling and screaming for costumes. But have you seen the cost of some of the commercial costumes out there?!? Frightening how much they charge, isn't it? However, a little bit of creative thought and some inexpensive or even free supplies can scare up the right look and take a huge bite out of the cost. Not to mention, the benefits of making your own costumes and spending time together as a family far outweigh the convenience of fighting the crowd and spending what can add up to an absorbent amount just to look like 15,000+ other people who bought the same costume!
Now the hard part! If trying to be creative gives you the creeps, don’t let the thought haunt you for a minute! I have a few boo-tifully free sites that offer tons of ghoulishly great ideas to take the terror out of finding just the right idea. Remember, you don't have to follow any costume instructions to the letter. You can let them be just a jumping off point and run with it to make a creation all your own. The kids will be “goblin” up making their own costumes and being a part of the creative process. The end result will give you goose bumps when you see the pride on their faces as they scream "Trick or Treat"! Now go dig up your costume ideas and have a safe and Happy Halloween!
