Legally Take All The Stolen Stuff You Can Carry (plus S&H)!
So, what do you wear when you are grabbing up stolen goods? Please don't use a ski mask for this, it'll just freak out your spouse and I'm pretty sure the dog won't react well either. Besides, you don't need it, since you will be in your own home! Okay, before you get the wrong idea, I would NEVER suggest or condone anyone breaking the law. This is perfectly legal! I promise!
Ever wonder what happens to all the unclaimed stuff the police confiscate in raids and investigations? Well, except for the stuff the IRS auctions off...(thanks Madoff) ....and well, yea... the drugs are off limits too. But what about the rest of the stuff and and how do you get your hands on any of it? I found the answer! The answer is Tom Lane! He is a former New York area police officer who created PropertyRoom.com (http://www.propertyroom.com/) where police departments can auction off confiscated goods, and where you can get a good deal (http://www.propertyroom.com/).
"There's about $10 billion worth of product in police property rooms." said Mr. (Officer) Lane. "A customer can sit in their living room in Montana and bid on something that came from the New York City Police Department." And the cool part? The money from the auctions goes back to the police department and that city's general fund. Mr. Lane continued to state "The consumer gets a great deal, and this is a product the consumer never had access to before..."
You can find everything from apparel to watches. Keep in mind, autos, computers, fine art, jewelry, and tools are on the short list of items which all fall in between. In fact, there is an emerald and diamond ring (right now) that retails for about $4,200 but Lane says the ring will most likely sell for less than half that.
So if you want to really freak out the spouse, skip the ski mask and just mention that you are bidding on an ambulance which (as of the writing of this) is going for $350.00. But if you want a good freak out, I might drop a hint or two about the watch you "might" bid on as a nice anniversary present.
See you on Property Room (http://www.propertyroom.com/)....ummm...withOUT the ski mask...okay??
